Normanton
Normanton was the port for the gold mining town of Croydon. A 150Km railway was constructed from Croydon to Normanton in 1891 to support Croydon which then had a population of 7000.
Today Croydon has a population of a few hundred but both towns still survive, mainly due to tourism, fishing at Karumba and that isolated railway line.
